TAKE48 2026 CINEMA SCREENING ANNOUNCEMENT
The team has now finished watching and scoring all the films submitted for this year’s challenge.
From these results, films that scored;

1st-20th have been awarded FINALIST

21st-40th have been awarded OFFICIAL SELECTION
-
41st onwards have been awarded QUALIFYING FILM
With over 400 filmmakers taking part, and 70 films submitted for this year’s challenge, this year was our largest event to date, and the quality of the submissions blew us away!
We want to congratulate everyone on their achievement and hard work in completing the challenge, and regardless of the outcome, what was achieved in such a short amount of time is nothing to shrug at. We hope you all enjoyed the process and learned a thing or two in doing so!
SELECTION FOR 2026 CINEMA SCREENING
All FINALISTS & OFFICIAL SELECTION will show at the TAKE48 cinema screening during SUFF on Saturday the 12th of September, 3pm, at the Factory Theatre in Marrickville.
AWARDS PRESENTATION:
This year's TAKE48 awards presentation will be held in the cinema, straight after the screening has finished.
AUDIENCE FAVOURITE AWARD:
Each screening ticket comes with a vote in the Audience Favourite Award, so be sure to so bring your friends, bring your family, and bring your most easily influenced acquaintance!
FACTORY THEATRE COURTYARD KICK-ONS:
SUFF has the whole venue to ourselves this year, so you are welcome to stick around after the TAKE48 screening. Grab a bite from the food trucks and a drink from the bar, and say g'day to all the other TAKE48 filmmakers!

All FINALISTS will proceed to the second round of judging, where they will be scored by our 4 judges, from which the overall challenge winners (1st, 2nd & 3rd) will be awarded.
ADDITIONAL AWARDS
All FINALISTS and OFFICIAL SELECTION are in the running for the additional TAKE48 awards, being Best Use Of Challenge Theme, Best Narrative, Best Production Design, Best Cinematography, Best Post-Production, Best Director and Best Actor.
